First Geocache

First Geocache
Originally uploaded by Pandora and Bacchus.

Our friends Zev and Fiona exposed us to geocaching this past weekend. We now have a new hobby to occupy our time. Our first geocache is "where the buffalo roam" in eastern Montgomery. Although the buffalo remained distant (yes a real buffalo in a local mans yard) the Canadian geese and their chicks waddled past. The buffalo is on Bell Road just south of I-85 if you are ever in the Montgomery area.

The Biscuits make it to first base against the Mudcats. They went on to blow out the game in the later innings. The stadium is great, seats are awesome, we are 5 rows from the dugout, in 10 dollar seats. Love small town baseball.

On May 1 we decided to take the day off and head for the Montgomery Biscuit Baseball game in downtown Montgomery. The brand-new stadium is built along the old RR tracks, see the train in the background. What a beautiful day!!!

Leaving Destin

Leaving Destin

There's those pesky high-rise hotels again (taking off into the beach is a little fun). We took off and Eglin approach kept us a 1000 down the beach for about 8 miles. The beach tour for free!

Boy, I sure am a great husband. Fresh seafood and a walk on the beach for my wife. All courtesy of her personal pilot.

Being in search of the $100 hamburger (flight time, gas, hamburger), and of course being a wonderful husband, I took Lebette to the beach for a little seafood for lunch last saturday. We had a great flight down. With all the rain lately the landscape is very green.

What first flight isn't complete without a little weather? Good thing she didn't see the lightning until after we got on the ground.
Oh, did I mentioned that after we got on the ground and were waiting for the rain to stop to get out.....the door leaked water all over her.

Despite the rain, we had a fun flight that lasted a little over 45 minutes. Several days later I took her on a night "tour" of Montgomery. Now I like this town, but the tour only took 15 minutes as we circle'd the "beltway" her. The night flight was fun, but I wouldn't let Lebette fire off the flash....since I did have to eventually land.

Monty finally convinced Lebette it was time to go flying, so on 23 Feb 05 off we went into the gloomy grey skies. As we took off the weather was nice, however, after being airborne for half an hour...in came the Alabama thunderstorms. Here is the Alabama river and rain shaft as we are on final back into Maxwell.

Motonfield

Motonfield

Just a few weeks ago our class went out to Moton Airfield where the Tuskegee Airmen trained. Our class project is to clean up the airfield and help with the restoration of the park. So, we spent the day (180 of us) cleaning up the airfield, tearing down chainlink fence, trees, and brush. Here are a few of the seminar mates and myself in front of the old Stearman PT-17 they had. Wish I could have gone flying instead...

Haunted Hay Ride

Haunted Hay Ride
Originally uploaded by Pandora and Bacchus.

Hey all,
Last Friday night Lebette and I went on a Haunted Hay ride here in Alabama. We went with our friends Zev and Fiona; Zev was in our wedding and has been stationed overseas for a while. We all had a blast on the hay ride, and as you can see, the ghouls got ahold of Fiona. We are all looking forward to a festive candy-filled Halloween.

Folks,

Here is how well our move went. The stuff arrived in a moving truck.....towed by another truck. No wonder we had so much damage.
